It's easy to see why the author could not get anyone to publish this. With all the wide spacing and blank pages it could have been a 20 page booklet. It appears her infatuation with Rammstein lead singer Till Lindemann has led her to write a book of her conjectured poetic prose to make Rammstein's lyrics into songs with English lyrics that rhyme. The original German lyrics are not even listed in the book. Buy a book like "German made Simple" and actually learn some German words.This book teaches you nothing and is extremely overpriced. Author lacks pop culture references that give Rammstein meaning beyond High German. Note "Engel" description... gosh... never heard of Quentin Tarantino ? "Sonne" was originally written for the Klitschko brothers to enter the ring... info most die-hard Rammstein fans either know or would expect someone writing translations of songs by Rammstein to know. Herzeleid.com has been doing translations that include variants for years. This lacks songs that deserve proper translations... obvious songs that have clever double meanings (Du Hast ). Also neglecting to note Till Lindemann's mother was an East German poet laureate is just plain negligent. The continuing negativity towards East Germans also not mentioned.
For the record, i have not purchased this book, I'm reviewing it based on what I'm seeing via the "look inside" option here on . I'm a long time Rammstein fan and learned German because of the band, and I want to list a warning to anyone who wishes to buy this book as some kind of aid in the German learning process the translations are very altered from their literal translations and have been changed significantly to rhyme in English. That being said, the background information in the book's chapters seems interesting and the author seems to have included points on the band's influences as well as some influences on Till Lindemann's writing style.
I give this book 2 stars for what I consider to be bad translations, as someone who's gone through all of Rammstein's work and translated it all by hand. It also bothers me, as a writer myself, that someone translating another's work would alter the content to drastically. The only reason this doesn't get 1 star is for those little background bits, but that does very little to rescue the book's validity.
I love Rammstein immensely so my wife gifted me this book.its a really cool idea and the lyrics are awesome though a few of her reviews of the songs left me wanting and there weren't many songs reviewed so it ended quickly.
I loved this book. I just hope it's a acurate to the band. And I would love to be able to have Till Lindemann's poetry. But I would need an English version. I hope some day it's avalable.

Daumen hoch! This book is an excellent introduction to basic German for Rammstein fans who have not studied it, and a good refresher for those of us who studied German a hundred years ago in high school. My only complaint is that the book is not long enough! I would love to see one of these for each Rammstein CD including all songs. Maybe the author could link up officially with the band and do an in-depth study. Hopefully she will follow this work with an explication of Till Lindemann's book of poetry, Messer. I've tried to read a little with my rusty Deutsch and it's fairly hopeless. Lindemann is too skillful a wordsmith for me to catch the nuances. Bitte, bitte, Jackie, und danke schön für Ihre Arbeit!
I found this book days after joking with my hubby that I needed a "Rammstein German" book (as opposed to the typical Learn German kind of book). So glad this was written, but it left me wanting more. I would really like to see the writer do a LBRB # 2 and do more song interpretations, which really brought the translations to life for me. Great idea by the author .
